SFA (8-8, 1-4) vs. Southeastern Louisiana (8-8, 2-3)

WHEN: 1/13 (MON) 6:30P.M.
WHERE: William R. Johnson Coliseum (Nacogdoches, TX)
WATCH: ESPN+

Fifteen minutes into the game Saturday night, the Jacks season was being read its last rites. But after two Hayman threes, Pangonis playing tough, and Nana hitting another two threes, the Jacks season feels resurrected. A big win at conference leading Lamar is a big jolt of energy to this program.

Now however, the Jacks have to prove that this miracle wasn't a last gasp. The Lions of SE Louisiana come to town with a similar season as the home squad save that they were able to beat UTRGV. Up and down struggles, mainly on offense has them one game ahead of SFA in the conference standings. Their man Sam Hines, Jr. can do it all. He will be job #1 for the Jacks.

SFA has been its own toughest opponent this season and Monday will be no different. Buckets win games. Hopefully we left a dead monkey in Beaumont (where all dead monkeys belong), and will start shooting like a real team. If we do, things will look good Monday night.

First bit of watching still have no idea how Southwick gets the start. I feel like I can't bash him to hard now since I met his wife/parents in Eugene when they played Oregon but man he always causing turnovers.

The impressive thing about Saturday was all the assists and none of the turnovers. We've switched the game tonight. I like Saturday better. Let's go back.

I don't really disagree with this assessment, but we're 1-5 through six conference games. Going 6-8 from here out would need a big positive turn. Which just makes me sad.

Leading scoring for SLU tonight is from Shelbyville, an hour from Nac.

Kid scored 17/game in HS and 18/game at Trinity Valley.

Played at Lamar before transferring to SLU.

I can only assume his ability to score was an immediate turn off to Kyle Keller in the recruiting process.

EDIT: He shot 4-8 FT's tonight..:so maybe he could play for us.

Besides beating Duke seasons ago. And a potential breakout year in 22-23 / Men's basketball @ SFA has been outshined by the Women
SFA women's basketball deserves more support and cheers than the guys. Just is what it is
