Agree that it's time for Keller to go. When he arrived he had fire and recruited some good guys like Kevon but it's quite apparent that he has lost the "hunger" as 4460 put it and apparently the desire or ability to recruit well.
I'm sure when Keller arrived his plan like most that come to a mid major was to have a couple of great years and move on. The Covid year might well have been that but we all know how that turned out and frankly MBB has been in decline since. There is no question that his tenure needs to end. Very much reminds me of Harper in football. As soon as he lost Moses to graduation and the team came back down in wins, he was only a body going through the motions.
A new coach will have to come in and build from scratch. Current talent is replaceable to say the least. New AD and Prez can get to work and Hopefully make a good hire. Use the fancy practice center to wave at recruits that have the needed Mid Major talent level.

While I support the hiring of a new coach, I'm not interested in the 2 or 3 folks that showed up last year and stirred up the board with unneeded garbage telling us how evil Keller is as a person and how stupid we were to support him. They have every right to post he needs to go or such but one can hope that we can avoid the gossip and BS.
Keller's support is dropping like a rock. Let the admins do their job, replace him and get out and make a good hire.

You are so right... he is a very smart man and very well respected in the coaching and NBA ranks.. He has just lost his fire and it's totally evident in his recruiting of this years team.. The portal is a game changer and you can build a team if you surround yourself with a good support staff, NLI money and work your ass off turning over every rock looking for that next Kevin or Shannon or TJ.. Got to remember tho Mason is the one with the Atlanta connection and he recruited Shannon.. Keller played favorites to Kevon too because I know the weed issue came up more than two or three times and he would turn his head when it happens to Kevon.. I am with you I don't want to bash him anymore than I have.. He is a good man-father and I do respect him..

I have confidence that our University and Athletic Department leadership will properly address everyone's appropriate concerns about the current state in the right way. In the meantime, I will strongly support the student-athletes.

I'm glad the criticism is not personal. Coach Keller has definitely been given more than enough time to keep a successful program heading in the right direction, but he has not succeeded in the majority of his seasons at SFA. For sure, the Covid season ruined any plans to move up the coaching ranks. On the contrary, as I mentioned yesterday, the program keeps getting a little bit worse each year. Player development is lacking. Our teams can't shoot well and turns the ball over too much. We do not have a lack of effort (my opinion). Instead, we have a lack of ability in regards to shooting. I will give props for recruiting Pangonis, but how do we keep him for four years. I often see Coach Keller chewing him out. We need players that can shoot well before they get here as well as players that want to play for our head coach and who want to stay and graduate from SFA. I do not give props for many of the other recruits and transfers. Some coaches are better as an assistant than as a head coach. We need change.

The biggest thing was seeing him defend our players in a post-game conference against CBU. Keller seemed to lose the locker room last year near the end, it still felt like, and that felt concerning enough for us. We've had a great recruit come in with Chris Johnson. I bet the suspension was in the proper regard, but I feel that his quitting on the team right after is on the coach. Something isn't adding up there. Keller needs to change his who strategy of Offense and Defense because everyone has figured it out or has done it better than us for years. It's tiring to see the same mentality of Press U, and it just falls flat.

It's weird that we call ourselves "Press U" still but our defense is hardly as aggressive as it used to be. We used to give even the best teams headaches with how aggressive we play. Now we play only slightly more aggressively than a lot of teams.

And offensively it's been a theme the past several years that we almost turn the ball over as many times as we force turnovers.

Yeah. There has been 0 change for the better. Its frustrating teams are adapting and well we are falling flat on our asses.
