Just a terrible offensive game. Scored 9 points in the final 13 minutes of play. Let that sink in.

Good news. Someone tomorrow will get their first D1 win of the season: SFA (0-3) vs. Monmouth (0-6).

Bad basketball and an almost empty gym. It's got to get better.

And, it's Sylla, not Sylia. Where did those two announcers come from and how did they land that gig?

Not to pick on the announcers but the volume goes from low to high. First world problems I suppose.

Terrible play-calling. I get that we have hurt players, but that was the sloppiest SFA basketball game I've ever watched. Holy goodness, that was awful. We look super dysfunctional on offense and defense. Stone really was the only knowing what to do and how to attack the glass. Lamar was also a bright spot, but this team was so inconsistent.

Injuries. Every year. Why so many injuries?

Johnson concerns me the most I didn't even see him on the bench tonight. Unless his injury is that severe...

If I'm not mistaken they were working Diboll athletics just a couple years ago… not sure how they landed this gig though

Thompson and Johnson will not be enough with this squad.. McNeese will hand us our a$$.. It's going to be a long season..

Those were plays? All I saw was one on one offense, except for a couple of plays coming out of timeouts.

Nothing to add to what's been said. That was ugly.

Holy cow.. Here is my take.. I like Coach Keller.. Coach has great NBA connections and is very well respected in the coaching circle. Coach doesn't do this for the money. His family is wealthy before coaching came along. Something in his coaching/motivating isn't working here in Nac. He has a 1st class facility and little bit of NIL monies to help attract top talent. He isn't getting that done right now.. I have always said he can't deal with the kids of the inner city .ie Mitch, Walker,Duece and I can go on with more inner city kids..Coach is very strict and once you get in the dog house it takes a lot to come out of it. I don't feel he relates to these kinds of players at all which the majority of the talent are these types of players. He had Mason there for a little bit and Mason would be the one delegated to keep the players motivated. I wasn't a Mason fan because these kids should of been told that Coach K don't put up with no bs.. Coach isn't hungry like he use to be.. This team he has put together this year has 0 go to players.. Something is wrong there.. SFA should have at least one star player like most recently a Kevon, or Shannon B.. There is not a player on this years team who could even be in the same gym as either one of those two.. It's time to bring someone in who is hungry and will go get a roster.. The game has changed with the portal and such.. I appreciate all the work Coach has done but it really is time to look somewhere else who is hungry and wants to grow themselves..

Keller was a P5 coach before coming to Nac. At Texas A&M. Scheming is different when you consistently have 5 dudes who are faster, stronger, and just flat out better than most of their competition.

I think the biggest mistake he's made is trying to make SFA play like a big time program. Underwood had us playing small ball, but it was playing to the strengths of the type of talent we could nab. I think it's easier to get good perimeter shooters and speedy, sneaky threats at the mid major level than physical guys who can drive the lane all the time.

Not to say Keller is a bad coach. He's a really good coach and he's a phenomenal recruiter. But his style just historically doesn't translate well to the Mid Major ranks unless you can consistently get the kind of players who can run it.

Speed and technical basketball is what made SFA so great a decade ago. Out scheming guys, not outmatching them. 2020 was a special year and those guys could physically outmatch many teams, but those guys are gone.

I do really like Keller, I think he was a great hire for us and the vision he brought was to make us a team who could consistently compete at the top of the NCAA. I just think his style is more suited for a bigger program that can bring in the kind of guys who can run it. SFA probably was that team in the mid/late 2010s coming off all of our overwhelming success, but that light doesn't burn as bright as it did, and getting that kind of player to chose SFA over all the other mid majors in the region is not as easy as it once was.

Do I think we will find another Underwood? Probably not. That was a once in a generation hire and it shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone that he got snatched away so quickly. But unless we see a drastic turnaround, I think it might be worth it to try and find a coach who can bring a style that's a lot more sustainable back to SFA.

That concerns me too. Johnson was not at the Ark St game and he wasn't at the game last night. Was hoping to see both him and Keon on the floor together. Every year so many injuries and kids leaving the program.

Just finished watching replay. I don't even know where to start.

Shooting and free throws. Couldn't shoot last year and from the looks of it same issue this year. Really bad couple of minutes starting the 2nd half. Smdh.
