I had to leave in the first half, but it doesn't look like anything got better. Half court offense was atrocious from my vantage point. New guards looked better than returners except maybe Jenkins. Post play pretty flat overall.

Johnson and Pagonis looked good enough for first game in a new system. I came in with low expectations and I'm not sure they were exceeded. But to be fair, I've seen Keller's relatively good times almost lose to St. Edwards and LeTourneau, so maybe there's nothing to worry about.

Ya. I really see a HUGE gap without having KT out there. We "have to have" a true point guard running the show.

Got to be better than this.

Jenkins was really positive Hayman looked lost for part of the evening. Nana was less effective than I expected, considering the size of U of Dallas. Need to see Thompson.

I guess it hadn't dawned on me that we have seven seniors on the team. Obviously, I don't want to look down the road with the season just getting started, but that will be a lot of roster spots to fill next year. We're entering recruiting/early signing season right now.

I'd still like to know what Thompson's injury is. I know there are HIPPA privacy issues, but I sure would like to know. I hope they don't bring him back before he's at 100%. Drake is just one game and there will be about 30 later.

Am I understanding correctly that, out of a 15 man roster, we have one "true" PG?

Isn't Immanuel a point guard? Keller said he just returned fro injuries.

Well if we do have one (Thompson), we sure didn't last night and boy did it show. I kept being relieved when Daveon got on the court because then at least it looked like we running offense.

Lots of rust but that should clear up. Missing a point guard but hopefully they get well soon. Some of the new guys look promising. Johnson is a stud.

Official attendance 1,632. Weak.

We don't need a 7 footer shooting 3's.

Honestly besides all of the Rust on shooting and feeling it with the Press, Passes and more. It did show case our talent quite well. Johnson has some big promise for us excited to see him ball out. Southwick needs to be way more agressive with the ball and driving it into the paint. The guy looks big but acts like a teddy bear. Use that size to your advantage. I think we should be ready for Drake on Sunday but lacking a PG does sting a little just need to find that main line up that works. Im sorry but that is not Southwick in the starting 5 for me.

Agree 100%. Southwick has a way to go (and he's a senior) before he starts. Just to slow around the bucket. Doesn't use his size w/leverage.

Myles Jenkins should be out there more. Based on last night's performance (assuming Thompson gets in the line up) I think Jenkins/Hayman at the 2/3. Keith Lamar rotating with Christmas/Stone. Nana needs to tighten up.

I'm probably going to ruffle a few feathers, but here goes...

I have never been a fan of Nana. After last night's AWOL performance (one of many in the last four years), I'm still not. Sure, he's a local guy, intelligent, "The Mayor", very likeable, and evidently a guy of high moral character. But he's just not a very good D-I post player.

I put Nana and Southwick in the same category. Guys with height, not terribly athletic, too timid around the basket, not agressive with the ball in their hands.

If very-athletic Jenkins had their height and played the post he'd be in the running for at least All-Conference every year.

There, I said it...

His player rating (KenPom) is surprisingly high. It seems to me Nana starts slow every year, then sometime after the 7th or 8th game he makes a leap. His Offense rating is 112. Not bad. When he starts grabbing a few strategic rebounds or makes a stop you might view him differently.

I still feel the same way about Southwick. At this point Southwick needs to be used sparingly.

I feel like I've followed SFA basketball enough to know that a ****ty performance against a team we should beat by 50+ without any issues means we're about to blow out some really good teams, then play back down to our competition.

I'm in the pro-Nana camp all the way. However, I don't think he's supposed to be the primary post. I think he does fine as a back up, and I think he plays better in a defined game plan and not a free for all. He's also may be the best outside shooter we have. I think he should shoot more from deep.

I think we have one huge underperformer on our team, but I'll refrain from making anyone feel bad.

I don't know how you gauge this team without having our "true" point guard on the floor. If you had Keon to the mix , the balance of our roster gets to play more natural roles.

I was disappointed in the play of Hayman, but when you consider he's used to playing "off" then maybe our sloppy 30 point win makes more sense.

Highly intrigued by a steady dose of Myles Jenkins.

Thought Dom looked good as a freshman. Keller was in his grill about something and stayed there for a while. lol
