It's that time of year again! SFA Basketball is back. Back in the Southland with a new lineup that's ready to return the Jacks to past glory.

Hayman, Nana, Christmas, Southwick, and Stone highlight the core returning roster while a seemingly deep recruiting class has Coach K excited for the season. However, losing so many offensive pieces in the last two years makes this current team a bit of a mystery.

Who's going to step up as a leader? Hayman and Nana both had opportunities to do so last season, but neither really took over that mantle. Thompson, Johnson, and Lamar all have the possibility of being the man.

Tonight's matchup should be a cupcake warmup, but maybe we'll see flashes of what we can expect this year. Time to get something rolling.

UofD plays in the SCAC, dIII. They play Centenary in Shreveport, same conference. I've seen them a lot. Unfortunately I don't think we will find out much about our team tonight, other than learning players and numbers.

I've had zero expectations for this team this offseason, but seeing them in shoot around has got me a little excited. This team looks tall and built!

Looks like the starters will be Hayman, Pangonis, Christmas, Nana, Southwick.

Pangonis is a bit of a surprise to me...

Pangonis was smooth in that 3. But we look a little rusty so far. Need to shake off the cobwebs.

I know ball security wind sprints are on Keller's mind for tomorrow morning.

Scott with some early floor time. Sylla may be the fastest 7 footer I've ever seen.

Not overly impressed with our lane denial.

How is it that our star returner is the player that seems least prepared?

Jenkins showing out. Like him in the lineup.

At the half...

1) Lots of rust.
2) Bad ball security
3) Johnson is as advertised
4) Jenkins making a case for everyday starter
5) Pangonis does not play like a freshman
6) U-Dallas is not a bad team at their level.

At his last interview, Keller mentioned in passing that he was injured but didn't seem too concerned about it.

Not the best of competition but still a lot of things to like. Chris Johnson is a stud. Love his court vision and his passing. He looks like a leader on the court. . Pangonis and Jenkins have both played really well. I like Syllas size. Moves great for a 7' guy.

I'm bad at estimating attendance, but I'd guess 2,500.

Unimpressive first 4 minutes of this half.

Agree with all. Maybe not 6 - They're not horrible, but they've been picked to finish 9th in their conference.

Not a lot to like from a "team" perspective. Jenkins and Johnson are the most impressive so far. Panngonis needs to finish close shots.

Trouble scoring.

We're stinking up the place this half.

Ten points in ten minutes. Bad basketball.

Suffice to say that we will need to step it up big time to compete with Drake and Ark St in the coming road games.
Several days to work on needed improvements.

Our post players have been absolutely terrible! Every one of them.

Thierno….. not seeing much. Nana. Should be dominating these guys.

What's up with Keon Thompson. Not having a "seasoned" PG is an issue. Missing KT. That's clearly part of the disjointed look.

Mighty McNeese lost to South Dakota State, 80-73.

I saw Coach mention he was hurt. That's all I know. Need him on Sunday. Chris can run that point but I would rather Keon at the point.
