36-16 SFA at half. Offense is hit and miss so far but Defense totally dominate in that half.

8 SLC women's teams at .500 or better for the season. Seems that the women's programs have taken a step up since we were last in the SLC. If my memory serves me, and I am sure someone will correct me, but most seasons had two or three at the top and then a bunch of nothing after that!

That would be correct.

SLC Teams at .500 or better record

2024-25: 8 teams
2023-24: 4 teams
2022-23: 4 teams
2021-22: 3 teams
2020-21: 4 teams
2019-20: 5 teams
2018-19: 6 teams

You would have to go back to the 2014-15 season to find the last time the SLC women's basketball standings had 8 teams that were at .500 or better.

So basically to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of this milestone, they decided to do it again.

Not surprisingly SLU claims all the honors. Probably the biggest surprise for the beginning of the season (or even after 10 games) is that Avery wasn't able to make a team.

Not really a surprise about Avery, given the number of games that she missed. A fabulous start to the season cut short by an back injury. That's an injury that takes a long time to recover from. I hope it doesn't make her consider not returning next year. She has a younger sister that's a star, too. It would be nice to nab her.

Quinn VanSickle signed with Pepperdine. Didn't want to follow her sister, apparently. Their brother, Archer, played somewhere in Florida (Juco I think) this season. (Avery introduced me to her parents at a football game last fall. She was taking them for a flight the next morning.)
