SELA no joke tonight. Looking very strong. SFA been playing from behind entire game

SFA may have to abandon the press. Southeastern has beaten it multiple times for easy layups.

SFA cuts lead to 41-39 at the half. SELA has led the whole way but Ladyjacks manage to cut it closer to end half.

Shame there is hardly anyone there to see it and cheer them on but I know weather is lousy.

SELA is outhustling the Ladyjacks here in 3rd. Also still owning the offensive boards.

SELA has more speed than anyone SFA has played this year, and lots of athleticism, too.

Ladyjacks have had several chances to expand their lead but missed big shots.

This one doesn't hurt as much as the UTRGV loss did. That one was a fluke.

I was busy tonight so I didn't see the game. Was wondering how we lost. Stats say Turnovers were 21 (us) to 9 (them). That is a surprising stat.

I guess we just couldn't keep the pressure as high as they did.

SELA beat our full court press several times for easy buckets. Don't know final rebound stats but they had many 2nd chance shots tonight. Actually they have several athletic ladies including Horne and Pierre I believe were the names. They definitely played very good BB tonight and we kept battling back but fell short...that happens when you have been behind all day. Also Van Sickle was quiet tonight. They kept her well guarded so when she had a chance for a 3 they were more hurried than you like.
SELA is 11-3 after tonight so no fluke.

I always appreciate the kind words! Definitely a tough loss tonight for the Ladyjacks. Let's hope they learn from it and bounce back quickly to get a nice win in Beaumont on Saturday!

Southland has some good teams this year.

Ladyjacks look just fine. An off night. Not huge. Still have the look of a 25 or 26 win team.

Bummer of a loss. Gotta win on Saturday...we will be there in Beaumont to cheer on our Ladyjacks. Ready to be a menace!

SLU is very good. Moore had something going on with her left calf. Put a sleeve on it for a few minutes, but guess that didn't help. Manie played well with a heavily taped ankle that she hurt in the last game. Mimi was not at the last game. She was on the bench this game with a heavy brace on her left knee. Ituau was not at the game. Avery was off. Didn't think I would see her on the bench the last couple of minutes of a big game. Our lack of depth is going to become a bigger issue as the season wears on. Eight players is simply not enough.

Not having a true PG really gets exposed against a good team. Also, we don't have a Dez, T, Kyla type lockdown, on ball guard. Late in the game, when we needed a steal, I didn't see anyone on the court that I thought could get one. Turnovers 21-9, resulting in points off turnovers of 26-9, was the difference in the game.

As you said, we don't have a true point guard, but they sure did. She was great at directing traffic in their half court game.

But honestly, I think their speed and running game was the difference. They beat us down the court for easy baskets too many times. That, and too many offensive rebounds and second chance shots. They scored 87 points. That says it all.

Our lack of depth is starting to show, which is what I have been afraid of all season.

Thanks. I know without a doubt that we can beat anyone in the Southland any day, but we're already behind the gun looking for a top two seed. We need that two seed. Fatigue is going to be issue #1.
