SFA (14-9, 7-5) vs. UTA (11-12, 6-6)
WHEN: 2/10 (SAT) 2:00P.M.
WHERE: College Park Center (Arlington, TX)
WATCH: ESPN+
To state the obvious, the biggest game happening this weekend is taking place in Arlington. The Lumberjacks fresh off of a win are going to in-state rival UTA to see if they can sweep Mavericks for the year. The Jacks need the win badly to keep pace with the conference leaders.
The first time the two teams met in Nac, the Jacks had their best conference performance of the year. Hall and Cajuste combined for 27 points while Jossell sat out. The game was the breakout game for Hayman who put up 20. Also, Jalil went for a career high 15 points and 6 boards which he has since eclipsed. It was also the last of a five game losing streak for the Mavericks.
Since then, UTA has put together a winning record while the Jacks have take injuries and losses. The surprising thing about the two teams is that they have essentially beaten the same teams and lost to the same opponents. These are teams that could end the season in second or eighth. Every game is a fight. As we've seen before, the Jacks have some favorable matchups.
