SFA (13-8, 6-4) vs. Tarleton State (14-7, 7-3)
WHEN: 2/3 (SAT) 4:00P.M.
WHERE: Wisdom Gym (Stephenville, TX)
WATCH: ESPN+
When it rains, it pours for the Lumberjacks. Less than 48 hours after finding out that Day Day Hall is out for the remainder of the season, senior point guard AJ Cajuste is ruled out. This removes 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists per game from the team, but more importantly the leadership that these two players bring to the frontcourt and backcourt.
No one is going to cry for the Jacks outside of their fanbase. The Tarleton Texans are having a scrappy season that finds them in second place in the WAC halfway through. With three seniors leading the team, the Texans have excelled in fast play and tight defense. While they don't shoot a high percentage, they get more shooting chances than any team in the league.
Jossell is the new point. He has always been blessed with a good handle and good vision but can be reckless in his passing. If he can keep his passion and be lockdown on his distribution, the Jacks can survive the switch.
Beaubrun has come alive with solid play by Nana behind him. The bigs are having their effect as the whole team is finally working together. This team still has a lot of potential.
Ugly games while everyone settles into the Jacks new reality is part of it. If the Jacks can get a huge boost in Stephenville, they make another loop through the bottom half of the league. Start building now.
