Good fight from the Ladyjacks. Bad possession where we could have held the lead with 5 seconds left, but we turned it over with 20 seconds.

Yep. Passed the ball right into a double team.
If Gatewood plays, I believe we win. Our team played with real grit the entire game against a much bigger team.
The refs are in the top five of the worst I have ever seen. That was not a charge. And, how do you take ten minutes to get conclusive evidence to change the out of bounds call. If it takes that long, it can't be conclusive. Awful.

Agree 100% about Gatewood. She plays, we win. I think she'll average 8-10 ppg this year, plus she can handle the ball.
And those officials were almost making me long for the days of Southland officiating. (I cannot believe I just said that.....)

One other thought from last night. A question going into this season was how Bishop would handle in game as head coach. Times outs, substitutions, adjustments, etc. I thought he was extremely good in all phases. I liked the interactions with the assistants also. It appears they have clear roles and expectations.
Bishop certainly was different than Kellogg in referee interactions. Kellogg would have lost his mind late in the game. Not that one approach is better than the other, they are just different. The most animated I saw Bishop was when there was a five second call that was not made. Bishop sprinted from the scorers table to the far end of the bench. Then, he was immediately back in the game.

I agree. I thought Bishop handled himself well. I was a little concerned in the fourth when we were just missing three after three, but when we called the timeout, he settled the group down.
The last possession of OT was a player mistake that could have been coached better, but it didn't blemish a well coached game.

If any one had any doubts about Bishop being named as HC, those doubts were squashed last night. Bishop is 100% the right person to lead our WBB program to continued success. Yes, we lost that hard fought game...by 3 points in OT with amazingly tall players and awful officiating....but I am more excited than before as we embark on the #BishopEra at SFA!
His biggest challenge that I saw from the game last night is finding the leaders who are going to lead when things get tough. The early candidates from last night's game were Deck and Harden. Overall I was very impressed with our returning starting five.

It doesn't show in the stats, but Trinity Moore played a very strong game. She was largely involved in slowing down Liberty's tall center in the second half.
V said Tyler was really rallying the troops during the first half. I'm looking for our returners to be leaders.
Liberty plays Texas today at 2:00 pm on Longhorn Network. Might be worth a watch.
Texas fairly easily handled Liberty. I'd like to think we tired them out.
UT shut down Liberty's tall drink of water Center. She only had 6 points. But Liberty didn't get blown out, losing by 18.
