SFA (6-4) vs. Furman (7-4)

WHEN: 12/17 (SAT) 3:30P.M.
WHERE: Bon Secours Wellness Arena (Greenville, SC)
WATCH: Field of 68

The SFA Lumberjacks are back at again Saturday afternoon against the Furman Paladins at a neutral site in South Carolina. The Jacks are trying to put together their first true winning streak of the year. If the Jacks just play 7 like on Wednesday night, they will have a tough time of it.

The Paladins are the best shooting team we have faced this year putting in just shy of half of their shots (49.8%). They are led by their two fifth year seniors Mike Bothwell (G) and Jalen Slawson (F) who combine for 34.3 points, 10.5 rebounds and 8 assists per game.

Furman likes to score at the rim and protect their own. They do not foul or draw fouls well and they can be made to turnover the ball. They play a fast paced but controlled style. They play up to 10 deep but really only 7 players get true meaningful time.

The Lumberjacks are still ramping up their defensive intensity but they have to remember to control the ball. Furman has played lots of ok teams, but on paper, the Jacks should be one of their tougher games - and the Paladins have been losing the tough ones.

AJ has been growing leaps and bounds as a competitive point, so expect more confidence from him, but ball control needs to be a priority. Jossell and Hawkins are going to be needed to match the scoring in this game which could devolve into a shootout. Hall and Nana know they have their hands full in the post.

Nothing is going to come easy for the Jacks tomorrow, but this is the kind of game where effort pays off. A win could mean the tilting of the whole season toward the Jacks' favor. This team knows it's on the rise. Will this be the breakout game?

Really good analysis. Jossell needs a hot start. Nana needs to rebuild his confidence. If we can get this one, I'll be more than excited.

Furman seems to me, to have a significant height advantage. Pace will be important for us.

Jacks 6 point underdogs. Furman has a top 100 KenPom rating because of their high scoring, but they haven't beaten a team that is in the top 200 of NET rankings this year.

Furman - 89 KenPom, 152 NET
SFA - 170 KenPom, 160 NET

Turning them over and limiting our turnovers. 10 minutes in Furman is shooting 70% and we're shooting 15%.

Never been a fan of our offense. It doesn't allow for any spacing. Always crowded in the lane.

Nana is contributing absolutely nothing.

This is embarrasing.

Completely out of timeouts with 5 left in the first half. SFA down by 19. Getting embarrassed early. Now we get to see if this team has something.

At least Nana has scored 5 points at this point. Looking at our studs Hall, Jossell, Ware combining for 0!!! points.

44-22 Furman. Don't really know what to say. Daveon has more points than Jossell, Ware, and Hall.
