Do you watch every game? (Not being catty, honestly asking). The Ladies trade games...one game, Zya will be on, next game Steph, AB, etc. If Zya stat sheet isn't loaded, she's contributing in other ways.

I watch as many as I can and I thought she would be a scorer! I thought she would be higher than fourth on the score sheet. I truly thought she would be better than 43% from the field, 65% from the line, and 14% from 3. Also 25 TO's. Just saying I really wanted her to fill up the stat sheet.

She contributes in other ways ,tho. I don't think her TOs are any worse than past years. She isn't shooting as well but other than that, still a valuable part of this team. She was amazing against Ball State & I thought she played well in the Portland and Gonzaga games.

What's impressive about the Ladyjacks is that they don't play down to their competition. It's one of the hardest things in sports not to do. They are so good at it.

The stats, and my eye test, say this is a fair take. Stats are very, very similar to last season. Rebounds are slightly better. Shooting percentage is essentially flat. Three point and free throw shooting are off a bit. She leads the team in TO's, as she did last year. Zya tends to play out of control some, and goes for the "wow" play. There are times when she gets pulled, settles down, and plays solid basketball. Still, a very good player, just not where I thought she would be.

Having said all that, our only player that I think is meaningfully improved from last season is Bri Mitchell. 45 assists to 20 TO's is the ratio I want in a PG.

Attendance was 1,216. The Cushing girls team was there. Fully engaged, and stayed through the alma mater.

Offensively, no. Shooting .333 compared to .428 last season. Against SLU, 1-4, 0-3 on threes, two of which didn't sniff hitting the rim. Defense has been, and continues to be, her strength.
