Two words to describe what will make or break our hopes tonight: Perimeter Defense
we know UIW's game plan. So hopefully we can stop it.
Slow start, but it's clear we're messing with UIW's outside game. If we can start moving inside, we'll extend this lead.
If only Kevon had a pull up jump shot or a step back...He would be averaging 5-10+ pts more on his average.
Ivan finally gets off the bench and commits another stupid foul. Kid has to learn at some point, right?
Couple fouls called on us for outhustling the other team.
They were 1-9 on 3's (mainly contested) then we let them have two open looks to end the half.
Agreed. So we get a 4 pt lead then let the shooter get 5ft of space to drain a 3 with just 1 pass. Then we leave the shooter on the outside the next to play to drain a 3. The perimeter defense has been piss poor. Closeouts have been nonexistent today. Not going to get the W with this mess.
So, we get a gift last week with Sam losing, we get a chance to avenge, arguably, our worst loss of the year...at home, and this is the effort we get.
Laughable. Pathetic.
Our offense is unwatchable.
We may win, but it'll be because UIW gives it to us, cause I see no reason we will play well enough to take it.
And I have zero faith that the coaching staff are making relevant adjustments right now.

Pretty bad half. Really sluggish and seems like nobody cares to play tonight. Small crowd too.
We are 0 for 9 from 3. Don't wanna play a close game against uiw. We get a little lead we stop score and they tie and then repeat

It makes a big difference not having Ty on the floor with the early foul trouble. Much as I hate the way we ended the half, defense has not been the problem today.
Most likely bc it is a Thursday night game

Agreed, problem is the times we have a mental lapse. Like leaving two guys up top with only Harris to guard them.
We're lucky they've missed most of their 3s.
It's a smaller crowd because it's an almost unwatchable product.

Just to be clear, my 17 in the tiebreaker in the pick em was the fouls on Canete.

Crowd isn't great but it's par with most weekday games. Can't speak for what it looks like on TV.
Looks thin on TV from top angle. Bottom court side angle makes it an it better.
