I know I plan on coming up for this one, and hopefully the community and students file in for a good turnout.
As for how we do, it seems we play up or down to our competition. If we can play up, I think we have a very good shot of getting a big win and take some serious momentum into Huntsville.

my analysis for this game: I have no idea.
If TJ, Ivan, and Leon show up, we win. If not, probably not.

McNeese was shooting around 30% for the majority of the game and had 20 turnovers, they were never in it.
However, UNO had 17 second half turnovers. If they do that tomorrow night they will not win.

Uno also only took 8 three and made four. Which is good for us because we have been struggling with teams that shoot a lot threes. For us to win this game all the stars have to align. Play better defensive (like we did against Nichols), limit turnovers, and get contribution from BOTH Tj and Ivan.

I can't compare this game to any other in the SLC because New Orleans doesn't play the run and gun style of SLC teams. This is a big interior team with a lot of experience. Certainly not a perfect comparison, but this team plays more like Utah than they do any SLC team we've seen. Obviously not that level of talent but that Erik Thomas guy is pretty good...

I'd imagine we'll be playing some zone defense. UNO is not a good jump shooting team.
RPI Watch: 273 (up from the bottom at 312)
UNO and Sam are the only games against teams with less than 200 RPI. We have yet to beat a sub-200 team. Not that any of this matters for us, but just a national ranking check.

I'm afraid was the case the second any SLC team lost a conference game. The SLC is a terrible conference. There is no question at all about it. And one loss, maybe two losses, will condemn whichever team that makes it out to a 16 seed.
We would've had hope to be able to lose a couple, but then we lost to UAB, Rice, and Tulsa. That pretty much sunk us.
With our pre-conference performance, undefeated MAYBE would've netted us a 15 seed.
Yeah I agree. Our non conference was better last year but wasn't great we lost UAB , Tulane , destroyed by Baylor. What saved us was going undefeated plus our history of winning.
How much longer until Nieminen is back? We need him.
Good start. Just need to keep them from establishing their inside game.
Are we watching Jovan grow up? I like how Traylor has started driving more often.

A lot of that has to do with our other players only passing it to him while he is on the 3 point line and jovan passing it back out left or right. But he still deserves credit for improving, especially defensively.
What's the crowd look like? It's hard to tell from the broadcast.

Almost 2/3 filled. Very decent crowd, but it could be better. The crowd hasn't really needed to get into much because we've mainly stayed ahead playing solid. I feel this second half will get louder!
We said we needed Leon, Ivan, and TJ, and we've got that and more. Traylor and Dallas have played awesome. Jovan has outplayed Huntley. Augustin doing great. About as good a first half as we could have hoped.

Ya man i forgot we had Niemanen! Would be nice to have another interior guy. Josh can complicate simple put backs. The guys are playing very good though. UNO is clearly bothered by the extended defense. Spacing has really helped our shot type. We are getting good looks. Keep it up Jacks.
Playing with intensity! Hopefully we don't let up like on Wednesday.

I've just filed my complaint with the Southland Conference. I've recently got some info about a corruption scheme in Katy. I'm suggesting an immediate change of venue for the SLC tourney to WRJ Coliseum for fairness and integrity.
Jacks play a full 40 minutes. Finally. Purple lights!
Good win. Scratch, that great win. Completely dominated after the first 4 minutes, uno was behind the whole game. All the stars aligned. Play well defensively and offensively. Traylor and tj with back to back excellent games. A few fouls towards the end but overall great performance. #driveforfive

UNO has a ridiculously lucky schedule this year not having to face both Sam and Corpus twice (and got Corpus at home). Other than Thomas, I wasn't really impressed. We knew they weren't a good shooting team and that's exactly what we saw when matched up with pressure defense mixed with a little zone.
Very happy tonight, the bad part is we now have to go play on the road. Great win!

It's officially Piney Woods week! Everyone who can needs to make plans to head to prison town!
Really love the stat lines. This was a team win. Everyone scoring, rebounding, stealing. Who are you going to stop when everyone is playing up? Now to go get a win in Johnson Coliseum.
This has to be a HUGE confidence builder for our guys. They proved to themselves that they can be good.
Good job. Didn't get to watch it. Sounds like some real ball movement occurred
