I seem to recall that Nathan Bain is from The Bahamas.... l would like to send best regards to him and his family. Hopefully they are in Nassau and were spared the brunt of the storm.

Nate is from Freeport. My SFA hat led us to meet a guy that knows Nate. We had stopped in Freeport on a cruise last year.

I believe that area (Freeport) received some damage. Not the most significant damage but still heavy.

Freeport and Grand Bahama Island got the worst damage. Nassau was basically spared. The hurricane stalled directly over Freeport. 20-foot flooding. Thousands have lost everything. Thousands with no drinking water.

That's a very disappointing number. Very disappointing. My understanding is that his family lost their home, their school, and their church.

Donations are beginning to taper off. The total is around $131,000 now. The Bain family has said that the funds will be used to rebuild the church and school, with any remaining money going to the needy in their community. The Bains had insurance on their home.

Who knows how much insurance will pay in the Bahamas. Even here insurance is great until you need a claim paid!
