Don't know that I am totally surprised.

I thought one of our guys MIGHT get 1st team...but losing 8/11 to end the year and 4 in a row takes the sting out of any accomplishments individually.

I think we'd all agree they are among the top-5 most talented players.

Winning, in the eyes of voters, matter. (Outside of Lane, all 1st team are on winning teams, and NWST bashed us twice and hes a GD stud anyway in the middle).

What is probably the most telling, not that this is new...NO ONE other than Kevon/Shannon did anything worth being recognized for.

I guess winning is everything....

Not necessarily. Lane is a 1st Team selection from a Non-Tournament team.

However, it appears, for the most part, you need to at least qualify for the tourney.

SFA went 1-6 against the guys listed on the 1st team.

On the flip side...ACU has their best season EVER in D-1 and only has one guy on 2nd team and a handful of others below

The record certainly hurts, but I suspect the bigger issue for Shannon was having to play out of position most of the season. PG vs SG. His on ball defense and low assists are not positives for a PG.

I can't disagree with any of the first team.

I don't have a problem with any of the player selection.

The surprising part is Hooten not getting COY. I'm a big fan of Golding but Hooten took a team picked 6th and won the league pretty convincingly.

Are those guys who were picked good? No doubt.

Are Shannon and Kevon the two best players in the league?
No doubt.

Both of these things can be and are true.

But, winning matters. (At least to the folks who voted here...and frankly, myself included).

Winning matters. Lamar and SFA, top of the standings, represented as such on 1st team.

Great job ladies!

I'm good with the decisions. Frankly, there wasn't really anything surprising about Kevon and Shannon's stats with the lack of other scorers on the team. Honestly, I bet most voters would have expected them to be higher.
