Zach injured his hamstring a week ago and was placed on waivers today. Eight weeks until he's healthy enough to practice. He had a solid exit meeting and the Texans sound like they want to bring him back around week 6-7 when he's healthy on the practice squad. If that doesn't work out, two other teams have inquired. Unfortunately with all the injuries, Houston needs roster space right now. Sounds like his short time in camp was impressive but health had other ideas.

Also appears his opportunities to play professionally have far from run out.

Expected to sign with the New York Jets. Just fully recovered from hamstring injury last week and has been working in Nac since. He's flying out Thursday.

This is old news but the thread had not been updated. Zach was picked back up by the Jets in November per post above and then signed to the Texans practice squad again in December.

He signed a reserve/future deal with Houston in January. A futures contract doesn't "begin" until the start of the next season's camp. In the meantime,
Conque goes on the futures list and can't be signed by any other team. Anyway, long story short, he will be in camp with the Texans this March.

Unfortunate but not unexpected. They have a lot of depth at TE and from what it sounds like may be attempting to add Jimmy Graham.
There's still plenty of interest in Zach, so his journey likely isn't over yet.

If it helps, just think of them as the London Jaguars.

Zach was placed on IR by the Jaguars and then waived.
It looks like his injuries aren't going away.

Too bad for Zach. It definitely doesn't get easier on the body going forward. Hopefully he can get healed and make a practice squad for the season.

I had the chance to meet him and speak with with him, terrific young man>

At this point, his playing days are probably nearing an end, but with his father, he's got an in-road to coaching.

Whether it's with is dad at SFA or somewhere else (with dad or not) he'll make a good coach somewhere.

I wish the best for Zach - a great kid. It's a shame when you have to live under the public problems, apologies, and suspensions of your father.

If he wants to make a go at QB again Canada might not be a bad place for him.
He's got the arm to throw in the wind and high altitude and his athleticism would be pretty rare in the CFL.

I hope he can land somewhere, be it CFL or the new league forming, I always appreciated his athleticism, esp. for his size. I remember one play against HBU a few years back when Zach broke open for like a 45/50 yard gain and he was running wide open on the heels of Gus Johnson who was blocking for him.
All the best to him!

It appears as though Zach has turned his attention towards coaching, being one of the coaches with Old School Quarterbacks. It's a quarterback academy that helps high school and college QBs develop their skills. Zach attended the camp before his senior season.
