* SFA has won 8 straight games at home and 12 of their last 13.

FCS Longest Active Home Winning Streaks

15 Rhode Island
11 South Carolina State
10 Abilene Christian
9 Montana State, Presbyterian, Yale
8 Stephen F. Austin, UTRGV

Carthel talks a little about facilities at some point in the interview. How good McNeese facilities are.

I talked to McBroom at the social event at L'Auberge Du Lac. It sounded to me like, they (SFA Athletic Department) will have architectural drawings and a firmer timeline on the Fieldhouse by February/March 2027.

I would think they are moving dirt by December of 2027 or early 2028. That would be a positive step for SFA.

The stadium should be breaking ground earlier, though, right? So it can be ready by 2028?

Just speculation at this point I'm guessing the fieldhouse will be the first thing finished. Then the stadium renovation.

All just a guess. Although I will say, the last thing that was officially posted (the architectural firm) seems to lean into the idea that things are starting to get real.

I always thought, at least according to the Master Plan document, it was Stadium, then Field House (While both are being worked on)

According to the Master Plan
Stadium Construction Phase is the end of Q1 2027 - Q1 2028
Field House end of Q1 2027 - Q1 2030

(Less time away from our own home stadium, IMO)

Ya. I recall that from the timeline.

McBroom was very specific. Unless my recollection is off, the field house is the first priority now, from a football perspective.

From speaking with athletic department personnel last Saturday, the Field House and Baseball stadium are going to be the first things built, then football stadium. The new field is projected to be ready by earliest the 2028 season but more realistically and at the latest the 2029 season.

The plan for now is to still keep half the stands up in Homer Bryce and play the season during construction there if it's safe to do so. If not, home games will be played at Lufkin HS and/or neutral sites.
