Proud of Carthel. Hasn't been much to cheer about in SFA football in a while, but he's done it right. Wish him and this team much success over the next few weeks.

This. He's said. Numerous times in podcasts this year that he loves Nacogdoches, his family loves it, and he feels he's in the right place.
He was asked on one show if he would consider an FBS job if offered and he flat out said he has no interest in leaving Nacogdoches. This is going to be his retirement spot. If he manages to finish his career without being fired, he will be here a very, very long time.
Plus he promised me my son would be QB1 for him in 16 years so he's gotta stick around for that.

Well deserved. For sure. A lot of people on this forum wanted him gone. Gone.

Here are the combined records of home teams since the field was expanded to 24 teams in 2013 (the 16-team bracket from the spring 2021 campaign is not included). pic.twitter.com/rUwGL1JCF0

Well, I will admit I was one of those gunning for his head over inconsistency in the football program. The biggest thing for me will be building on this and getting more recruits to keep the consistency of going to the playoffs, whether as a First Round Bye, a lower seed, or even sneaking in as a non-seeded team.
Gotta keep the momentum going for SFA, it's in great shape. (I will admit it, I do hope for next year we give out good money for an outstanding QB in the Transfer portal, or an excellent JC Recruit like what we did with Vidlak and Self.

Haven't tailgated at a home game since I was a student. What time should I be out there on the 6th? Where should I go?
They do the "old folks" tailgate at the new Pineywoods Dining Hall.

Marburger has more eligibility?? Are you sure?
BTW, I have to laugh about the former Carthel haters (and that one Prison Tech lover) suddenly seeing the purple and white light. "Welcome to the party pal!" ~ John McClane, Die Hard
