Big man football on that 4th down play. Lamar is scared of SFA's offense. They don't want to settle for field goals.
Always happy with points...but...got to finish drives. That's what has gotten us in trouble in games past.
It shouldn't be understated Lamar has a really good defense, and we're dicing it up. They've held us in the red zone so far but with an all American kicker and strong defense, I'm fine with it.

Luckily we avoid disaster on the punt with help from an undisciplined Lamar special team.

Way too early for this comparison, but he reminds me a lot of Jeremy Moses. Not mobile at all but a great arm. The offensive line will need to hold up to help him out.

Blown coverage gave Lamar a long completion to the SFA four. They scored shortly thereafter. And SFA unable to finish drives. Great 1st Q. Bad 2nd Q. Visions of the McNeese game.
Honestly, so far we have a conference game with 2 teams that appear to be evenly matched. Momentum has ebbed and flowed and it's close at half. Both have made plays and made mistakes.
Problem for us on this board is the McNeese game (and 2 or 3 games from last season) promote the fear of the bottom falling out more than it should.

Know what I like about Jones? So many backs in this zone read type offense get the handoff and dance and stutter step and get minimal yardage. Jones gets the ball and just barrels ahead full speed. No hesitation.
