Checking the scores of other "money" games today....hope we can avoid giving up the 70s and even an 81 that the big guys are putting on the boards.

First Troy score way too easy.....I do hate money games.

So far the run defense already looks a little better, we just can't give Troy good starting field position again. Made that first drive way too easy.

It seems every year the first game of the year is absolute chaos. FBS team or not It just be nice to come out and not look silly the first game of the year.

Give the defense some credit here---they were having their butts handed to them early but have comeback and made plays including now 2 fumbles. We are all quick to criticize when they fail so I'll hand out props when they make the plays.

Annnnddddd…they just let Troy go 80 yards in 4 plays in 30 seconds.

And then the D gives up 75 yards without a whimper. Somehow have to learn to eliminate the big play yardage that we surrender too often.

Troy has a phenomenal back who will be playing in Sundays. The fact we've done this well speaks volumes to how good this team is capable of being this year. Just have to keep it going.

Like what I have seen from Maurer so far. I did not like pulling Weeks after 1 interception as that strikes me as a very poor condemnation of the kid. I imagine that both were going to play tonight anyway.

That said , in the end I want the best QB leading the offense. I suspect they will both be seeing action this year.

Was it actually Weeks or was it the announcers saying Weeks?

Cause for most of the first half they called Maurer the wrong name.

And the CBS box score has Maurer with the INT

It was Brian, weeks only came in one play when Brian had his helmet knocked off. But I have been really impressed with him. He has a fastball that would make an MLB batter sweat. I hope they open it up for him a little more in the second half.

Honestly take out the pick six and the opening kick return and we may be winning this game.
