31-17 SFA.

The only positive to the idiotic penalty is that it drew more time off the clock.

Smart of Rikel to take the penalty so that SFA could burn 2 more minutes of clock.
I'm detecting a hint of sarcasm.

If I'm an EKU fan, I might pin this loss on the 72 false starts.

Our players better keep their tempers down.

They played turn out the lights before the game was finished last week too.

Like they're trying to jinx us.

Huge win. Defense really flexed some muscles. Didn't look like we opened up the offensive playbook all the way.

Great win. 31-17. UCA awaits.

We flat out outplayed them today. Trae Self was phenomenal, Miles Reed was hungry, and that defense feasted. Let's. Go.

The Jacks have had a great home season winning every contest. The biggest issue is that we don't have a road win yet. (Don't @ me about winless Dixie St.) Absolutely the toughest test of this season is to get a road win next week in Conway.
SFASawmillGuy

Defense is absolutely gonna need to step up next week. UCA can beat you every which way. Fortunately, Trae Self heard about this trophy called the Walter Payton and decided to start his 2022 resume for it.

With Xavier.
SFASawmillGuy

That's why I named Xavier the Sawmill player of the game!
They both are so instrumental to this offenses success. Trae's ability to improvise and his quick release has been so instrumental in setting up huge plays. And Xavier is a top 10 receiver in all of college football, in any division.
Xavier will be a top 3 round draft pick when it's all said and done.

It's great to have a rushing game. It's not great, but good enough to take some of the pressure off of the passing attack. Miles Reed is making all the difference in the world for our offense.

10 wins straight for SFA football. Haven't lost at home since November 2019.

Man, I was really hoping for 9k+.

Though tbh, probably would have had several more if it was next weekend or the final week.

Two weeks back to back is tough.

We don't have many upperclassmen graduating? Looks to me like we are going to be STACKED next year. Stacked.
SFASawmillGuy
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Oh for sure. Next year honestly, we are going to be poised to make a run for Frisco. I expect us to win every game next year. Including our FBS game.

Edit: expect to win, doesn't mean we will. Going undefeated is insanely difficult in any sport at any time so there's always an opportunity for a head scratcher or bad game.
SFAJack_76

Most complete game we have played in years.

Rikel … come on man. Be smarter than that.
3/11 on third down conversion. Not good enough.
First and goal on the six. 46 seconds to go in the half. One time out left. Spike the ball. Give away a down. Head scratcher.
Disappointing crowd. Opening day definitely has an impact. Greeks in the south end zone showed up, and then packed up and went home. WTH.

Brown kick offs were fine. Four of six returned with an average of 19.5 yards. High kicks in the corner.

Gipson is amazing. Fast. Good hands. Good blocker. Smart decisions on fielding punts.
Reed still playing hurt. May be my player of the game.

Saturday is the chance for this team to win a tough road game.

Says a lot for the offensive line, when you have three straight 100+ yard rushing games (Against FCS teams) from your starting RB.

When is the last time that happened, Gus Johnson?

I absolutely would not blame him if he took an NFL opportunity if he got a first four grade.

But yes, keep Gipson, and find a protege.

I like what Gipson does off the ball as much as what he does with the ball. He runs his routes clean when he's not the target. He blocks hard. He misdirects. He's impressive.

I don't like him in on punt returns, but that's just because I don't want to see him leveled not that he's not good at it.
