I remember getting excited that he had made the Texans before being released for the conduct violation. Has it been 5 years?! Wow. He was fun to watch here at SFA.

I hate his tenure with the Texans didn't go better...I really wanted him to do well there.

Agreed. Whatever he did in Houston to get kicked off the team must be behind him right? He is 28 and there are a new crop of guys coming out of college each year so maybe teams would rather take a guy coming out of school than a guy playing in the CFL.

Think it just defends on fit. NFL will overlook a lot of history for a pass rusher.

Happy to see him succeed in the CFL. Would love to see him in the NFL again too.

Worth noting, Willie only has a 1 year contract with the Bombers. His old coach at Saskatchewan left in the offseason to coach for the Browns, who are currently missing a great pass rusher.

Indeed. Jefferson on one end and Jeffcoat from UT on the other created constant disruption. I think I heard one of the announcers say that they work out together in Austin. We need to get them to spend some time in Nac.

Wonder if there's an argument for SFA to work on establishing a CFL pipeline. Jefferson is making around 250k this season I believe.

It's not an NFL salary, but with the rise of the XFL, the other pro leagues could provide our guys options for careers past college to make decent money & get looked at.
