I think I saw on twitter that he's been called up for 6 games, but here's to hoping he can make the most of it.

I was about to ask how many times he has been called up. Is there still a limit to the amount of call ups you can have? I honestly don't follow MLB the way I used to.

Yes, three option years once they are put on the 40 man roster

Options are really complicated to explain. But simply put, once a player is put on a team's 40-man roster (players eligible to be called up to the MLB) then they can only option that player down to the minors three years. There is a lot more that goes into it but that's the basics.

Step 1: Secure a spot in the league.
Step 2: Sign a big contract
Step 3: Donate money for Hunter Dozier Baseball & Softball complex, home of the Lumberjacks.

The plan is working!

If you are able to watch the Houston Astros on AT&T SportsNet Southwest (Channel 674 on Direct TV), you can watch Hunter Dozier as the Royals battle the Astros tonight, Saturday, and Sunday. The announcers earlier tonight mentioned that he played at SFA.

Hunter has a good game and the Astros win. Cant picture a better scenario

He was 1-for-4, with that one hit being the homer. I don't want to throw cold water on this, but his series overall was actually not very good (2-for-11), just like the rest of the woeful Royals. Believe it or not, he is their third-best hitter, batting only .233. The Astros outscored them 24-9 and outhit them 37-17 in the three game series.

Astros are arguably the best team in baseball. Royals are one of the worst. Houston did what good teams are supposed to. Coming into their 11-game streak, Houston had the 2nd toughest schedule. Now they dont play a team with a .500 or better record until July 20. Expect a lot more of this over the next month.
As for Hunter, struggles are to be expected, especially as he gains more time and pitchers get more of a scouting report on him. What Hunter does as pitcher learn him will determine if he stays up or is a career minor leaguer.

Awesome. I watched and even though I'm an Astros fan for 50 years I felt a sense of pride in Hunter's smash.

After a slow start to the year, he has his BA up to .277.

Hunter has the 24th highest average exit velo, at 93.9 mph, in the bigs this year. His max is 113.5 mph. I would say that is pretty good.

He is a hoss, and put in the work to get there. The few times I got to see him play at SFA, it was obvious that he was different. Bigger, stronger, faster.

Glad to see Dozier doing well. Just a few more years and he can get one of those sweet, Chris Davis level contracts, to help us build our on campus baseball stadium.
