Just saw this online Michigan St basketball team will now be known as MSU Spartans presented by Rocket Mortgage.
I suppose there will be a few of you that will applaud the idea for whatever dollars it will bring in but I find the idea of referring to a college team as a part of some company to be disgusting and completely absurd. Very sad to see this nonsense come to pass but I'm sure many will be quick to follow. Money and commercialism have already ruined so many things in this country (and yes in the NCAA and college athletics) that I shouldn't be surprised.
I mean if you must fall into this joke then how about just renaming the gym where they play as opposed to the very college program.
