An interesting matchup in the UIL Class 4-A Softball Semis today in Austin. 30-9 Sweeny will take on 40-3 Bullard. Sweeny is led by pitcher and SFA commit Corie Byrd and Bullard's best hitter is SFA commit Kaylee Paul, a .617 slap hitter with speed. Looks like SFA will be a winner in this matchup, regardless of the outcome.

EDIT: Sweeny won 8-1. Corie Byrd threw a 3-hitter with 12 K's. For Bullard, Kaylee Paul went 0-2, with two walks and a stolen base.

No surprise, Dickson, had the relationship built with these players and they want to play with her as their coach.

Bruister will get his players in, I'm sure Texas A&M - Commerce commits are flipping as we speak.

Just a bummer for the family and friend members from Katy, who will now have to travel all the way to Albuquerque to watch her play.

I always wonder about "What's the attraction" in situations like this where multiple players choose to commit to the same school? Did our coach have a history at Grayson, or did the Grayson coach have a connection to SFA or our coach?

I'm assuming you mean assistants since Jeff Jackson was announced as the new HC on June 6.

I understand he has gotten his two assistants. They have not been announced yet.

Bishop was a four-year starter at Liberty High School ... 2019 district Newcomer of the Year ... was a first-team all-district selection on the Liberty squad that won the 2021 Class 4A State Championship ... was the team captain and all-district as a senior in 2022 as Liberty won back-to-back state titles ... was the 2022 State Championship game Most Valuable Player after collecting three hits including two doubles with a run scored and two RBIs ... was TGCA first-team all-state, Texas Sports Writers Association first-team all-state, academic all-state and Texas UIL first-team all state ... played travel ball for the Cy Fair Intruders 18U Gold ... also was an all-district volleyball player at Liberty."
