And, Tex-Mex.

The girl from Texas played at the 1 in singles and 2 in doubles last year as a freshman. Her dad was at the few matches we attended, sitting right next to the fence. After the first match we saw him, he was in tears. In broken English he said,"pardon me, that is my daughter, and I am so proud." That speaks to one of the values of college athletics. Even in the "lesser" sports.

Good match. Lost the #3 singles in three sets for Texas State to win the match. Good crowd including baseball, bowling, beach volleyball. Really windy. The new windscreens, refurbished scoreboard, and the purple courts look great. La Tech on Saturday and Jackson State on Sunday.

1-2. Lost the doubles point, losing the #1 match 6-4 after leading 4-1, and had an uphill fight after that. We looked like it was our third match in three days. Jackson State didn't play Friday. JSU has a solid team.

Don't like that loss, but it was a non conference match. Ladyjacks are 2-1 with wins over ACU and UTRGV, and a loss to Tarleton. Weird schedule this year.

Tennis finishes WAC regular season with a 3-2 record. Final non conference match on Sunday against Nicholls. WAC tournament is April 22-24 in Beaumont. There are teams that don't finish conference matches until April 16.

FYI, the Sam coach was … not nice. Not to us or any of our team, but to at least a couple of his girls. It was hard to watch some of it. I wish him ill.

Also. Our coach has been out since she had their baby about three weeks ago. Think she is about ready to get back at some level.

SFA finishes the regular season in second place in the Southwest Division behind a red hot Tarleton State.

SFA and Tarleton are the hottest teams in the WAC right now.

In the last 10 games the Lady Texans are 9-1 and the Lady Jacks are 7-3

The wind yesterday was brutal. Steady very strong wind with occasional gusts that would take a ball in a different direction. We lost a couple of the singles matches that we should not have.

Coach was there for our one senior. She left early in the doubles matches.
