So far this team is a Jeckell & Hyde, they show flashes of playing together and then lay an egg as they did last night.

Very true. It's baffling. I'm trying to stay optimistic. Hoping that the return of Ty Charles will eventually lead to some stability and chemistry between this massively talented team. Fingers Crossed...
I don't want to be the guy to say this but... maybe this isn't the year. Can we live with an 8-10 season if it means bouncing back next year?
Biggest thing here is we have a ton of freshmen playing. The talent is certainly there. This is actually probably one of the most talented teams SFA has ever had. But there is no chemistry and no discipline. Next year it'll be fair to expect us to be dominant again. This year, there are going to be bumps. If we can limp our way into the tournament I'll call this season a success.

I also don't see the leadership from anyone especially Ty, and while TJ is only a sophomore I expect him to be more of a leader.
Last night was pretty disturbing to me. Losing road games can happen, but losing like that to a team like McNeese is very concerning. I hope this is a wake up call to them all. Still plenty of time to turn around the season, we've only played 2 conference games.

If we where in any other league, I would say it is over. It early in the season but I don't believe something this bad can be turned around. Like I have said a million time before , we have the talent but we are missing something.i don't know if we are a good team playing bad or a bad team just playing at our level. Starting to seem like the latter.
Well, I think some of us have been hinting that this year's team is a far cry from the last 3 years and that some have expectations that far exceeded reality...although I think those thoughts have passed. This is a rebuilding unit and has lots of work to do and maybe not all the pieces we need. I hope that we will rebound and still be strong conference contenders but last night leaves a bad feeling about that.
One of my main concerns about the future of men's bb right now is...if we end up with a poor record this year and no NCAA appearance...will we lose players to transfers, will we lose the good recruits that have already signed for next year.....as a rebuilding club we need to hold on to what we got to carry us forward the next 2-3 years.

I agree, L&L. Possibly losing recruits due to losses during a rebuilding year greatly concerns me, too. And if it concerns us, you know it doubly-concerns the coaching staff and athletic department. Keller is supposed to be a great recruiter. Let's see if that's still true over the next couple of months before LOI signing day...

True. Forgot about that. But who knows how it could affect other recruiting classes??? Keller and Company will still need to be a sales job on them.PurpleOut said:

(Man, that nice practice facility sure could have come in handy in that regard. Perhaps The Sawmill could pay for it and still make it happen??)
