I know there are a few games left, to this is likely to change.
But, I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on the SLC superlatives for this year? Here is what I think:
Coach of the Year - Richie Riley (Nicholls) I don't know who has done more with less than him. Seriously, that place is impossible to have a winner at. They draw 400 people! Assuming the win the conference, or even if they don't, that guy has done a remarkable job.
Player of the Year - UNDETERMINED. Statistically, Jordan Howard would be the pick, but his team is likely to finish below .500 in conference and may not make the SLC tournament. That has to count against him. This is a tough one to choose. Maybe the Peters kid from Nicholls.
Newcomer of the Year - Shannon Bogues (SFA) Seems like a no-brainer to me. He may be the best player in the conference right now...and still could make a late push for POY.
