Portland is solid. It could be a turning point.

Haven't got to catch much of the game but looking pretty good at end of 3rd.

Last 5 minutes for all the marbles. Portland not going to go away as they quickly got an 11 point SFA lead down to 6.

It's been a very defensive game on both ends.

Great last 5 minutes of basketball right there. Ladyjacks hang tough and come away with the 5 point win.

Big time win for a young team.

Those Portland girls were QUICK. Played Ladyjack type in-your-face defense. We struggled to handle it at times. Nice win.

Very nice win. Only turned it over 13 times while forcing 19. That, and our free throw shooting, was the difference. Gatewood got her first meaningful minutes, and looked good breaking their press.

Attendance 1,182. $5 tickets. Very few students other than band and cheer.

On to Alabama.

There were some Ladyjacks with ice water in their veins in that 4th quarter. VanSickle, Deck, Harden, Lombard. They didn't lose their composure, and the team held off a late push by Portland. Proud of these ladies! Growing game-by-game.

The growth in a short amount of time has been significant....they are starting to really gel as a team.

Relative to this team not panicking, Portland was up 17-8 at the 4:58 mark in the first quarter. They were shooting nearly 78% from the field. We didn't panic. Stuck to the game plan. Made a few adjustments to slow down the back door. Great job by coaches and players.

Our seats face our bench. I really enjoy watching Bishop through the game. He is fully engaged with the players and refs. Positive with both when it's called for. Providing "constructive" comments when needed. Coaching during substitution, during the game, clock stoppages, and time outs. An occasional smile. Running to the far end of the bench following an unfortunate call, then immediately back in the game. Dramatically different than the other group that uses that bench.

I enjoy watching this women's team. Both they and Bishop seem to be having fun. Cool watching them grow and battle back against good teams.
