SFA (5-3,1-1) vs. Louisiana Tech (6-2)
WHEN: 12/5 (TUE) 6:30P.M.
WHERE: William R. Johnson Coliseum (Nacogdoches, TX)
WATCH: ESPN+
It's December in the Sawmill and while Christmas came to the team early this year, the Lumberjacks are still looking for some holiday magic against a Louisiana Tech team that has always been tough.
This may be the toughest Louisiana Tech team SFA has ever faced. They are a tough nosed upperclassmen team that excel in all areas of the game with no real weak points. They are holding teams to 62 ppg while having an extremely balanced offense. They are currently led by Isaiah Crawford (6' 6", Sr., G) with 15 pts, 5 rebs, and 3 assists. Their 6'11" big man from France will give our frontcourt fits. He is easily getting a double double every game. But the whole team is deep.
The Jacks are happy to escape Abilene with the win, but it was not a pretty game to watch. We're seeing a lot of depth and rotations, but it's still unclear who is leading this team or who is even the go to player at every single position. We have no #1 guy right now from point to wing to forward. It just depends who's performing well in that game. It's refreshing and frustrating from a fan vantage point, but this is a game where we're going to need leaders.
It seems like Keller knows he has a special group of players, but he has not quite unlocked how to use them to their potential. The Drake game was obviously a huge high water mark, but the team has just looked rough since. As rankings currently stand, this is the toughest game after Utah State this year. A win tomorrow would be a huge pick up.
