What a Saturday! Two basketball games and then football. We'll be there, and maybe...just maybe we'll get 3Ws. On the show tonight Carthel spoke of a lot of issues this year, but one was "we had the academic problems thanks to a bunch of bozos out of our control". I sort of know the topic and I'm sure it was discussed on here, is there a thread I can go to get the final whole story, or maybe a two sentence summation? Just curious - thanks. AxeEm!

"Bozos" is right. We've discussed it several times. Apparently, an academic bozo advisor "misadvised" some of the players on what courses were needed, causing them to become ineligible prior to the season. And that bozo is still employed by the university in a different department. Not sure where to find the various discissions though.

BTW, I'm also making the long drive to Nac to watch all three games. My adrenaline is, in particular, flowing for some MBB and WBB hoops. AxeEm!

Yep Bozo is in the school of Business now at a nice level on the pay scale... Fanatic summed it up in a nut shell for you... NOt sure where the thread is becasue this happend the Thursday before the Baylor game and Coach had to pull some of them off the bus.. We will have the best ones back for next year... Pace,Hendrix,Nichols,Cox,Shaw, and a few more I cant remember... A total of 7 starters... Sad thing is that they all thought they were on course to receive a degree from SFASU and they will get one but it will just be a year later... The two DT are gonna be beasts next year.. Nichols and Cox.. Cox will be the best DL in the SLC next year I promise...He is on a mission.. Ultimately I am happy for the kids because they can now get their degree like that thought they were... They have lost a year of eligibility playing but they now have a legitimate shot at a degree..

Not that anyone is going to participate, but Saturday is a "Black Out." I don't own any black SFA gear, so good luck with that.

Weather looks perfect right now. I'm going to set up a small tailgate somewhere in the commuter lot so I can go between games easier. I'll post where I end up, but everyone is welcome to stop by and hang out.

This is gonna sound strange, but UIW is the example we should want SFA to be, in terms of a turnaround and how quickly it can happen.

They are in year two of Eric Morris, they are on path to make the playoffs (or come real close) for a 2nd straight year.

Turnarounds can happen quick.

And four Freshmen DT's with a year of experience under their belts. That position will be a strength.

I remember the first game I went to when my son was a freshman in 2015, he was in the cannon crew and firing ole cotton- I was so pumped about SFA I bought a ton of purple gear for the season to wear. Day after I bought out all the purple in Jackbackers, there it was, the announcement From athletics that the first game was going to be a 'white out'. Oh well. I remember even the team didn't get the message as they were in purple for the white out. FYI, I have no black gear either.

As much as I would've loved for us to have that miracle turnaround, that is so incredibly rare. When it happens it's a huge deal, but football coaches usually take a couple of seasons to get the team in a competitive state.

We'll get there, but the way this season has gone unfortunately should have been half expected.

I think a better example is coach Rhule over at Baylor. When he took over the team was a garbage fire. Now they're competing for a spot in the CFB playoffs.

Can some teach our players math? 2 is less than 7. Lay on the ball and take the safety rather than handing it to the other team for a TD.

I can't be alone in thinking this is the worst looking broadcast we've had all season. Absolutely ZERO stadium audio and the camera work is so bad.

Also probably going with Cam to try and spark this team. Sometimes a change at QB gives your team a shot in the arm. Maybe Carthel thinks Cam, a freshman, will also be more careful with the ball.

Yes, but I think the two first half fumbles with one coasting the a touchdown might change that - but he does have some zip on his passes when they let him throw. Don't mind trying him out at all.
