The Lumberjacks head into the Bayous of Louisiana to the confines of a green out at Strawberry Stadium. (There will also be a Gumbo Cook-Off)

The Lions snapped a two game skid on Saturday with a dominating 52-13 victory at HBU, where senior QB Chason Virgil completed 22 of 31 passes for 388 yards and 3 TDs, with no INTs or sacks. For the game SLU had 634 yards of offense while holding HBU to 259.

SLU is 2-1 at Strawberry Stadium this season with their only loss coming to UIW 21-27.

That team that played McNeese ain't winning no games the rest of the year.

While I still think we win at the very least 2 more games this season, I agree that McNeese was downright our worst played game all season.

In fact, the past 2 weeks we've played our two worst opponents all season in ACU and MSU. I think it's the attrition of the season finally setting in partially. We started the season off in a horrible spot with injuries and depth and still did very well each game but last week. I still think we're the best 1 win team in the nation.

We can most certainly beat SLU but our offense is gonna need to wake up.

Jacks get a pic late in half.....offense sputters in the red zone but Ruiz does add a FG down 19-10 at half.

We're 1-7 due, in part, to some horrendous play calling near the goal line this year IMHO. Explain why we play for the field goal, with a HB dive, down 12 on third and 10 at the end of a half when SLU gets the ball. Take a chance, if it's a turn over so be it, but something good might happen.

Agree Red, I know we are young and more than inconsistent on offense but have on several occasions failed to give the kids the play call to win games or shoot for the end zone. Playing safe or not to lose just because we are young doesn't make much sense especially the way this season has played out. I'm guessing this kind of cautious play calling will change in season's to come when Carthel has more experience on the field.

Well, terrible defensive series, SE fake punt for big yards then some missed tackles for an easy SE score. Down 16 now.

Nice touchdown pass to Gipson....2pt conversion missed so down 33-23.

Gipson is really looking like the go to receiver these past 2-3 games. Could really be a good one the next 3 years.
