I'm a part of several other forums that all seem to run a different underlying code base. However on those forums for some reason, the performance of the sites drop when threads become longer than 300 posts. I'm unfamiliar with what exactly happens to stress the site when they reach that length, but it's common practice to lock a long thread and start a second one.
Does anyone know if that is the case with this forum? I noticed that our Southland Basketball thread is now at 328 posts (the longest thread on the site). Just curious. It may not be an issue for the Sawmill since it's user base is considerably smaller than the other sites I'm on, but my curiosity has gotten the better or me.
