SFA research professor Chu Lee (probably misspelled -- Sorry, Professor) has applied for a patent for an anti-cancer compound that has shown the ability to resist and even destroy pancreatic and lung cancers. The source of the compound? Giant Salvinia found in East Texas lakes. The fast-as-lightning Federal government could approve the compound in a mere 10 to 15 years.

Based on how university technology licensing works, this could be a boon for SFA if it can be licensed to pharmaceutical companies.
