Don McNelly, age 96, died this week. He was a retired executive from a paper company. What's so great about that, you might ask? McNelly ran a total of 744 marathons in his life, and yet he didn't run his first one until the age of 49 after a close friend died of a heart attack. He ran his first one in Boston in 1969. He ran marathons in all 50 states and Canadian provinces and on every continent, including Antarctica.
