At the game on Saturday he looked terribly frail. I pointed it out and my wife was like he looks to be doing worse than some of the PT patients in her SNF facility. FWIW, that was an eye assessment at a distance, just didn't look like he was at full health.
Hoping for a healthy recovery. I know I've been pushing for a replacement for a while, but he's done a good job during his time and deserves a healthy and long retirement when he decides to hang it up.

Yes he has some health challenges.. I just hope he gets better..

Dr Datavio from Tarleton is a first class leader if there is any body on the BOR that is on this forum.. He has done amazing things at TSU.. Gowing by leaps and bounds..

In all seriousness, he's trying to build Tarleton to SFA's level. At SFA, he'd have the ability to build SFA into the tier below UT, A&M, and Rice.
Dr. Patillo has a "small, benign, operable, brain tumor." He is in a Houston hospital waiting on surgery.
That's better than most diagnosis's....

There's never been anyone who's loved SFA more than Baker Patillo. I wish him a full recovery for both him and his family. And by his family I mean everyone who's ever been a Lumberjack, is a Lumberjack, or will ever be a Lumberjack.
It is being communicated that the surgery yesterday went well.

Any updates on Patillo?
Recovering really really slow because it is a slow process..Wont really hear anything different other than recovering until after Christmas break which is the end of Jan. when the BOR meet.. He is alive and recovering slowly is all I could get. Keep him in your prayers... He bleeds Purple more than anyone I know...

Thanks for the update. Figured it would be a long process, but glad to hear that it sounds like things are headed in the right direction.
Heard that Baker Patillo is retiring, hope he's well enough for us to send him off. Maybe at the Bama game?

I don't know why this didn't strike me until yesterday, but it occurred to me just how much institutional knowledge we lost with Patillo.
I had been hoping that he'd take a sort of emeritus position with SFA, retired but helping with intros for the new prez to donors, fundraising, in Austin, etc.
The new Prez is gonna have their work cut out for them without Baker along to transfer that knowledge. They'll have to forge relationships with Mr Cole, Joe Max, etc on their own.
